Fitness is different for everyone. For me, going to the gym always felt like a chore that I had to do. Then when I would finally get to the gym, I had no idea what I was doing. I would only go to the gym 2-3 times a week because I just did not want to go. At this time in my life, I felt as though I had to go to the gym even if I did not want to. I am sure I am not the only one that felt this way about going to the gym. How did I break this funk you ask?
One of my best friends dragged me to a boxing class a couple years ago, and I have not stopped boxing since. Boxing has been the best workout I have ever done. I love that boxing involves using my brain while also getting a killer workout. I think I did not like going to the gym because I would often get bored of just lifting weights. Whereas when I am boxing, I have to constantly be thinking about the combination I am doing next. I genuinely enjoy going to boxing classes. After a long day of work, boxing helps to relieve my anxiety.
If lifting weights is your thing, that I great! However, if you are like me, maybe find some form of exercise that you enjoy! You can do yoga, cycling, or zumba. The key to exercising is doing it because you want to, and not because you have to. Going to the gym and eating healthy will completely change how you feel inside and out. investing time into yourself and your health is the best investment you can make.
